For local businesses

Your own app, inside your town’s app

In a town with a town app, every local business gets its own app inside it. Not a listing, but your own front door, in your own brand, with the features you choose: a menu and table booking, orders for collection, appointments or quotes. We help you set it up, and it brings residents through your door.

Your town’s app is run by its Business Improvement District (BID) or council, and made by Our App.

Why would my business want one?

Because it puts your business where residents already look, in the shape you want, and we do the setting up with you.

  • We help you set it up

We set up each business’s app with them: the photos, the opening hours, and the features and look they want.

  • Your app, your way

Choose the features you want, from menus and table booking to orders for collection, appointments, quotes, offers and events, and how your app looks, in your own brand.

  • A new route to your door

Residents find you on the town’s high street, its map and its feed, then walk through your door: a new stream of footfall for every business.

What is in a business’s own app?

The app is fully customisable: you choose which features to switch on and how they look. Every business app opens with the same essentials, so residents always know where to look:

  • Your photo and name
  • Open now
  • Call
  • Directions
  • Your website
  • Save and share

Then the sections you choose, starting from the ones that suit your kind of business:

Pub, café or restaurant
A menu with a specials board, table booking, tonight’s event and your updates.
Shop
What’s new in, orders for collection, and an offer to show at the till.
Services and trades
Book an appointment, or ask for a quote.
Market
Market days, the traders, and who is open today.
Hotel
Booking on your own site, and what’s nearby.

Every business app also has

  • What’s on here
  • Updates that reach the town’s feed
  • Mentioned by neighbours
  • Recommend this place

How do residents find my business?

On the high street
Every business has an equal shopfront on the town’s high street, in its own colours, neighbourhood by neighbourhood, showing who is open now. Residents walk the street on their phone, then walk it for real.
On the map
Your business is pinned on the town’s map, alongside what’s on tonight.
In the town’s feed
Your updates, specials and events appear in the feed residents open every day, ending in your main action, such as “Book a table”.
Through neighbours
Residents recommend places to each other, follow their favourites, and see first when something is on.

How do I get my business in?

Each town’s app is run by its Business Improvement District (BID) or council. When your town has one, we help you set up your business’s app: your photos, your hours, and the features and look you choose. You don’t need any technical know-how.

In the full product, you keep your app up to date yourself, post updates to the town’s feed, and bookings, orders and requests come straight to you. If you are not sure whether your town is talking to us, ask your BID or get in touch.

Questions from businesses

Do I need an app of my own already?

No. Your app lives inside your town’s app, so residents find it there. We help you set it up: your photos, your hours, and the features and look you choose.

Does it replace my website?

No. Your app links to your website, and adds what a website can’t: a place in the town’s feed, on its map and on its high street, where residents already look.

What if my business needs something different?

Your app is customisable: you choose which features to use and how they look. There are nine templates to start from, each built around what that kind of business does, and if none fits, we build bespoke templates on request.

How does it bring in customers?

It opens a new route to your door. Residents find you on the town’s high street, its map and its feed, see that you are open, what’s on and today’s specials, and walk in. Neighbours recommend you to each other and follow you to see first when something is on.

Will bookings and orders come to me?

That is how the full product will work: bookings, orders and requests come straight to your business, and you deal with your own customers directly.
